Description of Physical Fusion UV Defense SPF 50:

Skinceuticals Physical Fusion UV Defense is a tinted, zinc oxide and physical facial sunscreen for all skin types.
A groundbreaking, weightless sunscreen featuring color-infused sunscreen technology that provides a universal tint and boosts daily radiance. Physical fusion UV defense SPF 50 offers the photoprotection of trusted broad-spectrum, physical filters, zinc oxide (z-cote) and titanium dioxide and is enhanced by artemia salina, a plankton extract, to increase the skin’s defenses and resistance to UV and heat stress. The unique ‘shake then apply’ assures even distribution of active ingredients in this silky, sheer fluid that dries quickly and leaves no residue. Paraben and chemical free. Matches every skin tone.

The Difference Between Physical and Chemical Sunscreens:

Physical Sunscreens block or deflect sun rays while Chemical Sunscreens absorb rays. Physical Sunscreens are also called Mineral Sunscreens and contain Titanium Dioxide or Zinc Oxide, while Chemical Sunscreens are often called Organic Sunscreens. Physical Sunscreens usually are the most comedogenic where zinc oxide is the main ingredient. When applied Physical Sunscreens work in a New York Minute, while chemical sunscreens take 20 minutes. Physical Sunscreens fully protect UVB Rays, but not all of UVA Rays. Chemical Sunscreens protect the full spectrum of rays including UVA if stable and if containing the appropriate ingredient, such as Avobenzone. Physical Sunscreens can leave a white tint while Chemical Sunscreensare odorless and colorless. Physical Sunscreens are FDA approved, Chemical Sunscreens are not and may create free radical skin damage.
